So I finally arrived after about 18 hours of travel!

Got to Heathrow at 4am but nothing opened until 4.30am! However the benefit of being there early was that I got through bag check -in and security quite quickly.

There was a rogue tube of hand cream in my bag that I didn’t realise was there so had to have my bag searched and the hand cream scanned in case it was explosives or something 😔

Then from Madrid I got the connecting flight to Costa Rica.

I didn’t think we would get free meals on the plane but we did get a meal, snacks and a drink, and also a pillow and blanket. At one point there was a pillow on the floor and the people behind me said it was the man to the right’s so I picked it up and put it on his lap as he was asleep…..then I realised it was mine, but the man was cuddling it in his sleep so I felt bad waking him and asking him for it

So after the flight landed I was collected by a taxi- the driver was Grayby. We stopped to get some shopping – he was very helpful as I don’t speak Spanish other than very basic words.

We got to the resort at 7.30 CR time (which was around 11.30pm uk time)

It was dark so couldn’t see much, but I already saw some bugs – a massive locust with wings like a bat, a crab like spider on the outside of the netting, lots of tiny lizards which were very cute, and an owl 🦉
