Busy Day

Today was a very busy day !

I had 2 walks through the forest – 1 to find monkeys and water the mangroves (we didn’t see any monkeys which seems usual on a monkey walk)!

As usual my wellies filled with water whilst crossing the river and back again so I squelched along until I could tip out the water. It was such a hot humid day today. We have to wear long trousers and top with long sleeves to help prevent insect bites so I was wet with perspiration when I got back!

Later I had another trek through the forest to check the cameras. – more perspiration 😳

We also saw a massive tree called the Ceiba tree

As soon as we got back from this walk we quickly changed back into shorts and headed to Tortuga beach to release some baby turtles. There have been so many nests hatching over the past few days. Most likely there were a lot of eggs laid 55-65 days ago – early August and now they are all hatching at the same time. This evening after the release there were a further 3 nests hatched!
