Today 7 of us went to Hermosa Beach to join the National Beach Clean Day armed with buckets and gloves.

We spent an hour with others picking up rubbish.

So much plastic and other stuff on the beach – and this is one of the cleaner beaches – lots of tiny pieces of plastic which the sea creatures can swallow.

It’s shocking how Humans can be so thoughtless. Apparently the locals are quite good with rubbish disposal but people come from the city and leave their rubbish. I’m sure a beach in the UK would have had loads more rubbish !

The beach was really hot so we only did an hour. I’m sure we could have found more with more time.
